We are looking for an ambitious, conscientious, and thorough PCB Layout Designer to join the Metawave Team.

The successful candidate should demonstrate proven capabilities in the following:

  • Work in collaboration with RF, Hardware & Package design engineers to layout multi-layer PCBs with multi-lamination construction, blind and buried vias

  • RF Design practices up 88Ghz

  • Determine stack-up based on RF features and best practices to ensure the design is low-cost and manufacturable

  • Schematic capture, symbol, and component footprint creation

  • Generate PCB Fabrication and assembly drawings (Including Gerbers, BOMs, Schematics, ODB++ files)

  • Work with multiple PCB suppliers for DFM to ensure PCB’s are manufacturable

  • Perform Design Rule Checks to verify design and generate PCB artwork and mechanical fabrication details to enable PCB manufacturing

  • Communicate with FAB vendors to ensure designs are completed and delivered in timely fashion


  • Technical Associates degree with 5 years of experience or BSEE with 2 years’ experience in PCB layout

  • Knowledge of PCB manufacturing technologies and processes

  • Knowledge of IPC design standards

  • RF, Power delivery and high speed digital layout best practices

  • Optimizing component placement active/passive

  • Impedance control and transmission line theory

  • Experience with Cadence OrCAD / Allegro

  • Strong analytical skills and extremely detail oriented

  • Strong communication skills

  • Team player
