Full Time Employment, located in Carlsbad, CA

 

Your Role:

  • Be a core member of Metawave antenna team designing & developing active antennas for automotive radar & 5G

  • Build highly directional phase array antenna array steerable over large field of view

  • Work closely with the RF and System team to map customers’ requirements to antenna specifications

  • Proficiency is using HFSS EM simulation tools including active and passive components integration with the antenna

  • Perform other duties as necessary for completion of projects and achievement of goals

  • Ability to take an antenna project from the design concept phase to prototyping, testing, optimization, and system-level integration.
     

Field of Knowledge:

  • Clear understanding of system specifications and capable of translating requirements into a system design with simulation models

  • Clear understanding of noise, matching, linearity, and other device characteristics

  • Familiar with mix signal mode verification methodology
     

Qualifications:

  • B.S./M.S./Ph.D. in electrical engineering, robotics, radar, or telecommunications, with at least 3 years of working experience in industry

  • Experience designing, fabricating and testing antennas, electronically-steered arrays/ phased array antennas

  • Familiarity with performance characteristics of passive & active RF components including amps, oscillators, attenuators, mixers, filters

  • Expert at using EM commercial solvers such as HFSS, ADS, and NI AWR

  • Hands-on experience carrying experiments in mm-wave anechoic chamber, and using RF test & measurement equipment such as vector network analyzer (VNA), signal and spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.

  • Excellent programming skills, especially in MATLAB, and any scripting languages

  • Successful candidate should be highly motivated and be capable of taking an idea from the analysis stage all the way to testing.
     

Preferred:

  • RF and millimeter-wave integrated circuits design, fabrication, and testing experience

  • Experience with automotive or military radar, and/or working with automotive hardware

  • 2-3 years experience in designing Metamaterial-based antennas and an RF component
